Gravity of Light: the modern kitchen by Poggenpohl

An immersive experience at Milan Design Week 2024

In the midst of the creative frenzy of Milan Design Week 2024, our team had the privilege of participating in our partner Poggenpohl's must-see event: Gravity of Light. The exhibition presented the kitchen as an art object, a free-standing sculpture enriching the atmosphere of the room far beyond its functionality. This immersion in the innovative world of the modern kitchen was an unforgettable experience, leaving us with lasting impressions and profound reflections on the marriage between aesthetics and functionality.

From the moment we arrived at the prestigious Palazzo Landriani, we were enveloped in the spellbinding atmosphere of Milan's Design Week. During the few days of the exhibition, the palace's historic rooms were transformed into a realm of discovery, where light and material combined to create visually striking compositions. The +MODO concept kitchens, true architectural gems, captured our imaginations with their bold design and carefully orchestrated lighting.

Our first encounter with +MODO concept kitchens immediately immersed us in a world of lightness and elegance. The filigree metal structure and natural stone worktops seemed to defy gravity, creating a sense of space and fluidity. Subtle lighting through the freestanding piece added a further dimension to this sensory experience, emphasizing the importance of light in creating a mesmerizing ambience. Specifically, the natural stone worktop was evenly lit from the inside over its entire surface. For customers interested in the concept, this design solution offers not only infinite color compositions, but also lighting that can be adjusted in intensity and color to suit our preferences.

As we explored the various rooms in the exhibition, we were impressed by the diversity of approaches and interpretations of the Gravity of Light theme. Every detail, from luxurious materials to innovative functionality, was carefully thought out to evoke wonder and admiration. The collaboration with German manufacture Bernd Kussmaul GmbH was also a revelation, showing us how their experience in the aesthetics of luxury transportation could be seamlessly integrated into  interior design.

What impressed us most at this event was the way Poggenpohl managed to transcend the simple functional aspect of the kitchen to turn it into a true work of art. Every element was an expression of creativity and innovation, offering an immersive experience that harmoniously combined the beautiful and the practical.

In conclusion, our participation in Gravity of Light was an enriching experience that allowed us to explore the frontiers of contemporary culinary design. We came away from the event with a new appreciation for the power of light and material to create spaces that transcend the ordinary to become truly extraordinary.
